ZBrush Book Assignment:
For the progress for the final, I did get the base mesh and UV in Maya. I tried to get the base mesh as close as possible to the design that I had sketched out before. It is a very low poly model and perfect for additional sculpting. When doing the engravings, I tried to mask out the design and then used the modifiers that were shown in class to try to extrude them, but it did not work with enough straightness. Due to it not being straight in masking I decide to make the engravings my hand while straitening it out holding shift after i click on the model. One other detail that I have made is using the gem in the model as an Alpha and placing them on the corners of the book rather than having the bolts there from my past design. texturing is going to be the real challenge since this book depends on emissives and other height information that can easily be made during texturing rather than in ZBrush. and that's what I will be focusing on for the final.
